Note For New Students Only: Along with your application, new students to the Halls of Residence must pay a hall application fee of TT$250. Instructions on how to do this will be provided once your application has been submitted. Prospective students are asked to note that the University cannot guarantee accommodation.     Canada & Freedom Halls of Residence are located on the St. Augustine main Campus.  The Sir Arthur Lewis Hall on St. John’s Road is within close proximity to the Campus.  Joyce Gibson Inniss Hall of Residence is adjacent to the Faculty of Medical Sciences, some 4 km away at Mt. Hope and only accommodates students of the Medical Sciences Faculty.   NOTE: Please be advised Canada, Freedom and JGI Halls are full booked for Semester 1.

    Freedom Hall is a co-ed Hall of Residence at the St. Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies. Freedom Hall is very accessible both from campus internally and externally. The Hall borders the campus on the north-east and is within five minutes walking to all campus' facilities. The two main towns in close proximity to the Hall are: Curepe on the west and Tunapuna on the east. Both are within 10-15 minutes’ walk from the Hall.

  • The Arthur Lewis Hall of Residence

    The Arthur Lewis Hall of Residence, St. John’s Rd., is a co-ed Hall of Residence and is the newest hall, opening its doors to students in the 2010/11 academic year. This residence caters for the changing needs of our students, providing them with a modern, safe living environment that facilitates the growth and development of all residents.The Hall is situated on the North Campus of the St. Augustine Campus, five minutes away from the main campus and within close proximity to the Creative and Visual Arts Centre, Hugh Wooding Law School, Family Development & Children's Research Centre and Open Campus Gordon Street.

    I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT: (1) Acceptance to the University does not guarantee an assignment to a room. (2) University’s regulations on conduct and policies under which housing facilities are operated must be observed at all times during the period of residence. (3) It is my responsibility to update my contact information. (4) If I fail to respond to ANY correspondence from the Halls of Residence my application will be cancelled. (5) For New Students only; this application must be submitted with a payment of the hall application fee. (6) Persons who have been offered and accepted a place on hall will only be guaranteed accommodation for a period of one academic year, providing that all terms and conditions of the Hall agreement and tenancy are adhered to.  Please note: Do not print and mail this application.
